Check out the Valentine's boxes our class made!
Agripalooza
Our K-6 students took a field trip to the MSU Experimental Farm in Chatham to attend Agripalooza. Agripalooza is a day long event with sessions on agriculture, natural resources, weather, and more. Here are the sessions we attended:
Monarch Migration
We will be studying the migration of the monarch butterflies again this year through a program called Journey North. We'll start by making paper butterflies to send to Mexico as part of a symbolic migration. Find out more about the monarch migration on Journey North's website.
We sent our symbolic monarch butterflies to Mexico. Each K-6 student made a life-size butterfly that was enclosed in our file folder butterfly made by the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Our butterflies will spend the winter in Mexico. In the spring, we will get a folder and life-size butterflies back, but they won't be our own. They will be from other students across North America.
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!
